1378 Views and Still Going!

Hey there, amigos.

It may seem a little cliched at this point, but I've got some big news.

I've hit 1378 viewers. I don't know where they've come from, most from me probably. I'm very excited.

I do have a movie review for you. It's on How To Train Your Dragon. The movie's a bit old, but still pretty good.

Thanks to
http://www.modny73.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/how_to_train_your_dragon_ver8_xlg1.jpg
for this photo!
It was pretty good, considering the funny tidbits thrown in here and there. The epic final battle scene is really intense and quite confusing if you miss any of it. Since I watched this movie twice now, the battle scene seems quite intense. Very good story though.

There is the official trailer. Got it on YouTube.

See ya!

Pipe Down!

There is a reason I say that, and that reason is "punny".

I was recently in Virginia City, Nevada, on a family vacation. We wanted to see the sights, and one of those was the Piper's Opera House.

Piper's Opera House
Thanks to nevadaday.com for this picture.

Inside, we went to go look around at the actual opera house. It was very nice, until you got to the actual opera house part, in which the ceiling was falling apart,  but that's to be expected in a 130 year-old building, in which a guy salvaged parts from other burned down buildings and old mines. This tour guide, though, was the star of the show.

He stopped talking maybe three times. They were to listen to my family correct him, ask for our money, and have my mom's alarm go off. In that order.

Let me explain.

We walk in, wanting a tour. My dad asks for a tour. We walk upstairs and he explains the several different lives of the opera house, and this is where we mainly correct him on his historical facts. He stops here, to listen. Then we walk into the actual opera house, which is undergoing restoration. There are high school aged children setting up for their "Nevada-Day-Party". We smile and wave, feeling rather uncomfortable in the presence of the talking tour guide.

He continues to speak of incorrect facts, and we promptly correct him. He then says, "Now I need to collect your fee. The fee for the tour for the family is $10." We all think, "THANK GOD! IT'S OVER!" We fork over the moolah, and he continues to talk.

At this point, I'm about to melt. He speaks to us about the stage and the balcony seating. I know the answers to almost all of the questions he asks.

Shortly after this, he leads us to this wall of actors. He asks us who actually came to this opera house and performed. He gave us a hint that two people didn't come, and that we needed to figure out who they were. He lemented on this for maybe fifteen minutes.

This is the point where my sister is so bored that she starts picking the plastic tablecloth that was set up by the high school. The tour guide was appalled. He didn't stop talking, though. My mom let her continue to pick the tablecloth.

The tour guide leads us over to the wall where he tells us of this unknown artist who made a couple million dollars in the 1900's. At this point, my feet have started to hurt and I just don't care.

Then my mom's alarm goes off. The tour guide stops. My dad quickly jumps in and says, "We have an appointment at the RV park! We've gotta go!" My mom's alarm won't turn off. We have to take out the battery and this not only turns off Mom's phone, but turns of his mouth.

We thank him and quickly walk out the door. We don't start laughing until we are down the hill. We are all in agreement. That was one of the funniest/boring/interesting thing ever.

Let me describe the man.

He had a handlebar mustache with the curled edges, cowboy boots, a cowboy hat, and basically the rest of the cowboy attire. This dude was insane.

But here is some breaking news.

We have moved into our new house and we are about to close.

YAY! :)

What to do in the Event of an Earthquake

So, in science, we are learning all about faults and earthquakes, so this video that my good friend Jibble at thejibbles.com  posted to his blog was hilarious.

The link is http://richardfenwick.com/earthquake.html if you want to watch it. It's pretty funny.

Words from Seventh Grade

Hola amigos!  I'm posting to the beat of this song called "Perpetuum Mobile"... Really good song...

The thing is, though, that I'm in seventh grade now, and if you look back it's been a whole summer since I first posted. That was sixth grade, and now, it's seventh grade. I'm rather excited to continue the year. My new website background, yearbook, you name it. And, my drawing skills are growing.

But I have a story for you all.

Sunday afternoon last week, my mother and I pulled into our garage. See, my mother is deathly afraid of birds that roam free, but come close to her. There was a bird that was dumb enough to get trapped in a garage that was wide open. My father and I tried to get it out, and then my mom locked the car door. I started banging the garage door to the ceiling and making weird noises. My mother, in the car, started laughing her head off. I tried opening the door, but alas, it was locked. When the bird finally fled, sadly, there was bird blood all over the roof. Gross.

I'm going to sign off, for my laptop is about to die.

Just Follow the Gray Concrete!

So, tomorrow is the first day of school, and I'm off to school at 6:20 in the morning. And that's not the worst part. I don't know what my schedule is. I'm going in blind and told to follow the gray concrete. Actually, this is quite a big thing, since I'll be going into seventh grade after a whole summer of following my every move! This year will be chocked full of laughs and just weirdness.. TTYL!

Ah. Reading.

I have not blogged for quite some time now. I have done quite the contrary. I have read countless (actually, two) books and am reading another. I have mini-golfed, swam, and listened to music. Really, a great way to spend your summer.

So, here is the summaries and plots of The Book Thief and The Secret Life of Dilly McBean.

(Beginning with The Book Thief)

Liesel Meminger is German girl in Nazi Germany. Her brother dies on a train with one fatal cough. Her life then changed. At her brother's grave she steals her first book. Her lie, already torn in two, is then shredded when she is taken to her new foster parents. Soon she is stealing books from book burnings and mayor's wives. Then her life takes a turn of grave hope. The family then hides a Jew in their basement.

I give this........ 5 stars!

(The Secret Life of Dilly McBean)

Dilly has a secret. He is magnetic. His guardian is a bank. He has been shipped between camp to school and back to camp.  He always has wanted to climb mountains, but that didn't happen. Then he is moved to a small town and spied on. Another person knows his secret and  helps him develop it. He then saves the world with his power.

I give this book..... 3 stars.

I also read an article in Popular Science.

It was about a guy who dipped his hand in water then quickly dunked it in liquid nitrogen!

Don't do that.... ever. Anyway, where would you get the liquid nitrogen?

So, I don't have much else to say.

Sayonara, humble persons!

A Game and Some Exhaustion

So, in the past week, I have finished a book called Ender's Game and battled an extreme form of exhaustion called jet lag. Ugh.

I guess I should start with the book.

Ender's Game  is about a boy named Ender who was selected for a special school. This school,, the Battle School, was created for finding the perfect commander for an upcoming attack to wipe out the only other intelligent race in the galaxy. In Battle School he became commander of an army of other students in the Battle School's game. He excelled. He then moved on to Command School to see if he was ready to command a real army. Here he plays simulations.

I'm not going to give you any more or I'll ruin the story.

However, I'd give this book a 4.8 because there were a few phrases that you have to figure out before the end, and I had the author's definitive edition! The book was very good though.

Now, back to exhaustion.

After 9 holes of golf at 7, I hopped on a plane and flew all the way across the country to get home at 10 p.m.(Vegas Time) To me, it felt like 12:00 p.m(South Carolina time). After the bowl of cereal or bagel or whatever I had (I can't remember) I fell asleep and awoke at 7:30 a.m. (Vegas Time), I felt tired yet back on track. My parents were the exact opposite.

I'm now off to other thoughts, so I should say a humble goodbye:

Goodbye  readers! I'm sorry I kept you waiting!

Fin,

Boats, Dolphins, and Planes, Oh My!

So, today my sister, my father, and I went to this awesome place called Patriot's Point. We went aboard the USS Yorktown...

The USS Yorktown
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5b/USS_Yorktown_CV-10_Patriots_Point.jpg

...And it was absolutely AMAZING. If you imagine floating city that has it's own airforce and enough food to feed a small city, you've got it. There are jets on the top deck and in the ship. It even has an elevator for the planes. But this, for me, wasn't the coolest part. It was the fact that most places were not off-limits. You could walk through most of the ship. From the engine room to the bridge. I almost got lost. We even ate like a sailor!Don't forget the recipe for 10,000 cookies. We then lost it, but it had to do with 500 eggs and several pounds of sugar.

But something weird did happen today.

It is called an emergency button, a flight simulator, and some air conditioning.

It all started with the boarding of a flight simulator. The hydraulic door opened with a whoosh of sound and a dream of being alone on the ride. Well, that was crushed- like a grape. Two people came aboard, one man, one woman. The ride started, and was telling about safety- a crucial fact that states, "If emergency occurs, press emergency buttons above your head.." The girl presses it. The lights go dim, the cabin lowers, the screen goes blue, and alarms sound outside. The girl says, "I'm sorry! I thought that started the ride!" The attendant says pull down on the switch, then she restarts the ride.

When we got off no one spoke of it, until we got back to the beach house. Then we "ROTFLed" all over the place.

I haven't told you about the dolphins and water taxi... (I don't think I did...) Well, we rode a water taxi around Charleston Harbor. The dolphins came really close, and well, I got super excited. They snorted and played around the largest ship ever to come in to Charleston, SC. (It was SUPER huge!)

There is one last thing (well, two) that I would like to say.

Thank You.

I would like to say "Thank You" to all who serve and protect the United States of America. I see who you live and it makes me feel so thankful. After going to the Medal of Honor Mueseum on the USS Yorktown, it made me feel so thankful.

I really can't thank you enough.

Ocean and Quizzical Hellos.

The ocean is VERY inviting.

I like it that way. It waves and beckons, like any house that is well decorated and inhabit it by caring people.

These are the good things about the beach. Much like the surfers, I love them. So, I will not have time to blog too much, so let me make this hello. And goodbye.

This blog is short, and so are summers.

Imagination Makes Lands Even More Happy.

A moment of dreams.

Imagine a place where outlying islands rule the skyline and lobsters make beachgoers happy. The yachts sail silently under a beautiful cable-stayed bridge. Dophins paddle the coast, in sync with the surfers on the waves. The air is full of parasails and kites as the birds flot seamlessly across the shoreline. This is the place where I am happy.

This is Charleston.

In two days I will be going to this place, where boats and surfers make the area alive.

I'm done with the imagination, however great it is, but here's the thing. I'm going there. I'm really excited. This whole thing is one of the big things of my summer. It's really sad that the trip to my grandparent's is so fast. We are going to go to the ocean. Some people at my school have never left the Valley of Vegas.
(Hey! That's a cool nickname!)

Roller Coasters Make Me Happy. So Does Sleep.

So, yesterday was the day in which I went to Carowinds, an AWESOME amusement park in North/South Carolina. They have a ride that sits on the border!

The higlight of my journey, though, was the amazing Intimidator. This ride, as I have mentioned before, if 232 feet tall and reaches speeds in excess of 75 mph. The ride was inspired by Dale Earnheardt, "The Intimidator".  In the photo below, the large red and gray structure is the Intimidator, and that's not the complete thing. The seats themselves were intimidating! Once we were off the ground and being dragged up 211 feet of track the G's started to kick in, and I was yelling like no tommorow. At the far U-Turn in the track, or somewhere else (it all blends together) I yelled, "My salad bowl!" This was followed by a long bout of screaming down the hill.
Thanks to http://www.coastergallery.com/2002/PC63.html for the photo!
However, this was basically the last ride I went on! The park had a waterpark with a wave pool and slides! My sister loved Planet Snoopy, and she and I rode on countless rides, including a gliders ride that you control the lift. This park was AMAZING.

When we were done with the pool and Planet Snoopy, we were overheating. So, what place would be better than an ice show? Well, there was an ice show.

It was called Snoopy Rocks! On Ice! It was very cold inside, which was the point, I guess. It was alright.

I had a good day overall (other than the fact I was soaking wet after I went on an innertube ride), and today we get to chillax on the couch. Yay.

Penguins. What an Abundance.

Tommorow is the big day.

The day of Carowinds.

The day I ride the fastest, longest, and tallest coaster in the Southeast.

The coaster lasts for 3 minutes. I have never heard of a coaster that long. This thing is 232 feet tall! That's insane! Also, I am going to ride tons of other rides at this amusement park on the border of North and South Carolina. There is a ride that crosses the border! I am soo excited.

Today, we saw Mr. Popper's Penguins let me tell you right now, it was NOTHING like the book.  You'd have to read the book to know, but let me say the movie had nothing to do with ladders and theathers.

Signing off, this is Andrew Shepherd.

The Cookie Monster Eats Other Things Than Just Cookies.

Quack, Quack, I'm a chicken.

Sorry, I needed to get that out of my system. My sister and I played with this puppet that my mother or uncle used to own. We made Cookie Monster eat plastic cigars, a stick, and a Barbie (without it's head and arms). Later I went on a golf course. The Crate Myrtles were alive and well, so the deck got painted with pink flowers during a South Carolina afternoon shower.

I have an announcement.

I am going to the Carowinds amuesment park next Monday.

I am going to ride the Intimidator.

The longest, fastest, and highest coaster in the Southeast.

I am extremely excited.

A History. Of Three Days.

My story starts on the day of July Third.

We went to see Cars 2. The movie was great, though I felt it was a tad overdone. But, competing with the first must be hard.

The highlight of that day would be seeing my sister's hand being chrushed in the door of a car. I'm screaming, she's screaming, everyone is screaming. I'm afraid my sister's hand is broken, and I yell, "Stop it! You're scaring her!" I then proceed to getting hit in the head. All is well, and her hand is spared.

We are now to the point of the 4th of July.

Today's main course was swimming with a side of caddying and sunburn, with an appetizer of dissapointment. In the morning, I awoke to caddy in my grandfather's golf game. This was fun. Next, we went to the pool. I thought I had enough sunscreen on after golfing, but I made a horrible mistake. By the end of the day, I had sunburn galore. That night we were going to go eat at a place called Moe's. Here comes the dissapointment: it was closed. So, we went to the Fatz Cafe, and I had these awesome chicken fingers with baked potato soup and cheese grits. We later watched fireworks on TV.

Today, Tuesday the 5th.

Shopping. That's what we did. From Belk to Wal-Mart, we shopped like crazy. We then ate at a friend's house and had steak and peas. At home, we had cheesecake. We also watched the Casey Anthony trial. I about screamed.

Hey folks, I'm sitting out at a strange park in Nintey Six, SC. We are waiting for fireworks. We saw them last year, but we are going to see them again. Ttyl!

Topiaries, Mexican Food, and Warehouses Make Up My Day.

So, today, I watched Warehouse 13 for a large portion of it.

It was good. But the food at the "Santa Fe" was good, but I soon got all full from the rice.

Afterwards, we went to see the topiaries in Uptown Greenwood. They were really good, but I was tired, sweaty, and bug-bitten.

I am tired, so, goodnight.

There They Go.

I just watched my grandpa and sister drive away in the golf cart.

Without me.

Well, that's fine. I'm goign to see fireworks tonight anyway. I want to get this thing called and "Off Clip-On" like my sister has, because I strongly dislike mosquitos. And, if any mosquitos are reading this, I'm not declaring war on you, so don't attack me.

I'll record video of the fireworks tonight and I'll hope I can post it.

At the airport, my posts, mysteriously, didn't do what they are named after. Post.
I had some good pictures, but sadly, but they were attached and the posts didn't post.

However I took good pictures of take off and once I get back to Las Vegas I'll post them. Since I'm hoping to get into Publications (a fancy word for "Yearbook Class")next year, and if I do, I'll use those if they make me show off my skills.

Today, I played with this cool thing called "Fart Putty". Of course they don't put that on the label, but they say, "Flarp!" and, "Noise Making Putty". Trust me it is truly hilairous. The reason I did this and nothing else, was, of course, jet lag. I recover from it really fast, so now, I feel awesome. I watched TV and talked all day, so I feel really rested.

Southwest is a really good airline, and they treat their customers fairly and not like caddle so thanks Southwest.

I am currently listening to "Kamikaze" by Owl City on Music Beta (by Google) and blogging.

Also, I'm getting some of the best of South Carolina's world-class hospitality, at my grandma's.

And, no, this is not sarcasm.

May the odds be ever in your favor,
Andrew

And the Countdown Begins!

So, at 6 o'clock today, the countdown began. 36 hours until the wheels- and me- leave this worn, warm, and teeming place I like to call Las Vegas. There is a thing that I'm going to call "Color Syndrome". That's when you get so sick and tired of a single color that you bury yourself in another. I'm experiencing that now. (Andrew, what color do you hate so?)

Tan.

It is the bane of my existence.

That is one of the highlights of leaving this city.

A couple others that come to mind: missing my grandparents, trees, green, forests, new experiences, and commercial airliners.

Those are the things that I love. Other than my family of course, but you know what I mean.

I'm still working on that flight tracker, so bear with me!

Signing off, this is Andrew S.!

Ink is to Homes as Salmon is to Rivers

I was hoping to blog from the store, but it turned out I was going to just drive around and look at random peoples' homes.

My dad was out of ink for his computer, and we (as in my sister and I) were draggd out into the real world. The real world, in this instance, is compared to a fairy dreamland where birds can speak in British accents.

But before this pilgrimage, I went on one of another kind.

I went through model homes.

They smelled, well, horrible.

But, even before that, I tried to go over to a friend's house. But I forgot they were on a busy day. I had myself all ready for a day with my friend, but they weren't even home.

Lucky me.

But the thing is, I was okay. And I'm fine with that. However, I need to stop with this screaming thing my sister and have going on. We screamed util my mom's teeth hurt. And I'm sorry about that.

About the pilgrimage, we meant to go to OfficeMax or whatever it was. But we came at least an hour and 44 minutes late. So, we went to go look at rental houses. I waved to a small girl and she just stared.

That's right.

However, I'm starting to get REALLY excited to go on my trip to the wonderful state of South Carolina. We are leaving at an hour that NO ONE should wake up at. But, that's the way it goes. I'm going to see if I can a flight tracker for my flights and post it. I'll post several times (hopefully!)

Checking out, it's Andrew!

Burritos Make Happy Friends

Today, I'm blogging from my phone. This is soooo exciting! The thing is, I just ate a burrito and, ate the same time listened to a song about burritos. (Is that how you spell it?) I sincerely enjoy burritos. So, yeah, I had fun.

Silver Rose and I were discussing further events and found that Paranormal Week is going to be delayed until October.

However, we will have a special All American Week next this upcoming week. We will keep you updated on the new events page which will (hopefully) be up tommorrow.

P.S. We have a lot of other ideas planned for the future. Such as Chair Day, Aviation Day, and Atypical Day, so stay tuned!

Happy Paranormal Week!

Well it's just about the weekend and, I'm foraging for fun. Silver Rose and I came up with something. I'll talk about it in a minute. First, I'm going to explain my day.

I helped move The Rainbow Company into a building and quite enjoyed myself. I pushed countless books into their new library and ate pizza from Little Caesars. I drank English Black  Tea and washed out mugs. I think I accomplished many things, including organizing an event.

Some Questions you might be asking...

  • What date?
  • What will we be doing?
  • What is it?
All of your questions including updates and fun stuff will all be on a BRAND NEW PAGE called  "Events"

Thanks to Silver Rose my paranormal adviser for all your help!

A Message From The Past

Today, I went to go help move The Rainbow Company Youth Theater out of the Reed Whipple Cultural Center.  It was expected to take a total of 2 days, but we moved it in under 3 hours. Pretty exciting. However something REALLY weird happened.

It was the last time we were ever going to be there. And my dad's watch conked out.

As the group gathered in the conference room of the new building, my dad announced this. I said, "Time's up." And that is true.

The man who the building was named after was Reed Whipple, and I believe that this was his message that the Rainbow Company is going to have a better, brighter future.

The rainbow after the storm, so to speak.

I Eat (Part Of) A 5-Gallon Milkshake

Today, I went off to the good-bye ceremony of a wonderful place called the Reed Whipple Cultural Center here in Vegas. Every time I think about this building it brings up memories of shows, lunches, and classes with The Rainbow Company, where my father works. This was a shared building, up until recently, where the Rainbow Company sort of took over. Everybody already moved out.

My father and his coworker threw a big goodbye party. With a 5-Gallon milkshake. We dumped 2.5 gallons into a 5 gallon paint bucket with a gallon of milk. Then the put they huge thing of slush into a paint mixer! Guess what. I have video.

Preparation...

..and  shaking!

And were these milkshakes delicious!. I'm talking really, really, delicious. There were even leftovers! Alas, I think they were thrown out...

I sincerely wonder what the world's largest milkshake is...

In a week, I will be thrown across the country on a jet. I will have to wake up at 3:30 Las Vegas time, and go to sleep at around 10 to 11 South Carolina time. Let us keep in mind that will be sitting about 95% of that.

I'm really excited!!!!!! (NO, THAT IS NOT SARCASM!!!)

A Magical Place Called Wal-Mart

I visited a magical fairyland called Wal-Mart and ate mini chickens.

This was not fun.

My sister fought. I suffered from a sort of depression. And we bought peas.

That was the story of the magical fairyland called Wal-Mart.

Plus, to add to this lovely joy, the sign for our house went in today.

What fun.

However I did stay up until 2 A.M. for something good. It's name is Ark Angel.

SPOILER ALERT...

Alex Rider was shot. In an artery. And survived.  When he simply went for a breath of fresh air, he was again nearly killed by some eco-warriors called Force Three. What luck. But it turns it wasn't in vain. After saving himself from losing a finger and his life, he saved another person's. And that person was the son of a billionaire. So he was rewarded by being able to sit in the lap of luxury. Only when Alex races Nikolei Drevin, the billionaire father, has a sheer need to win. And by wining, he means winning big.

So, consequently, Alex Rider gets on Nikolei's bad side. Fortunately, not for long.

However, he soon goes to a game where his soccer team (Chelsea) goes against Drevin's team that he owns (Stratford East). Drevin loses to Chelsea.

Soon afterwards, Alex again evades the clutches of Force Three.

I don't want to give away all of the story, but I will tell you the climax.

I think the climax is when Alex meets Kaspar (the leader of Force Three) in space on the Ark Angel.

I would give this story a good 5 out of 5 stars because my heart was pounding the whole way. I literally couldn't put it down. I read it into the wee hours off the morning.

Logo Designing Isn't Easy

Today, I noticed that in the Hunger Games trilogy (which have read, and am reading again) I noticed that the country of  Panem needs a national anthem and a seal. Both of these are mentioned in the books, but never described. So I took on the task of designing a seal. At the end of this post, you will see the three choices, and on the bottom of the page  you can tell me which is your favorite. You can use either the poll or the comments!

I went back to the library to get some more books. I got Ark Angel and Crocodile Tears. Then I noticed I reserved the books... IN THE WRONG ORDER. Fortunately, the next book in the series came, but not the one after that. However, the one after that second book did come. (Wait. What? This is really confusing..) And I read these things really fast...

And now on to the seals!

If you can, please vote! I'd love to know which seems most fitting. P.S. I drew these myself...

Car Washes Make Fathers Happy

For Father's Day, I got my dad a nice car wash from Fabulous Freddy's. It was "The Best Car Wash" at that. And he LOVED it. It came with a free air freshener! How nice!

Feasts and Report Cards Make Me Happy, Though not That Much.

So today I got my report card. And I was pleasantly surprised.

I received five A's  and one B.

Oh Happy Day!

Another reason to celebrate is that I'm going to the Feast Buffet! What Fun!

However, like I said before, I hate moving. And I think hate is a strong word, but this situation, for me at least, is perfect for the word. I guess I could say "I'm thoroughly displeased, but that doesn't describe it as well.  My posts seem to be getting shorter don't they? Well this is why. I have a lot of stuff on my plate and I'm not really enthused with this ordeal. I'm sorry.

However, my life should be getting a little bit more happy in 11 days. I'm heading South.

Greenery! Pools! Sun! Sand! Surf! Museums on boats! This excitement last for an entire month!

I Use Motorized Scissors and Eat Burritos

We were doing yard-work for the house. The house is on the market. I feel sad and full of Taco Bell.

My father had me do the edges of the yard, because the Realtor was coming over to take pictures, and it had to look good. So, I was hunched over, like I was the Hunchback of Las Vegas. Good thing I'm not. So, consequently, my leg hurts. I had fun. Later, we went to Taco Bell and I had one of those "Big Box Meals". My mom promptly ate one of my tacos, and I had to get another one for me and one for my sister. I said, "2 MexiMelts, please." But then, my  sister quickly said, "And one Soft Taco." So, I was stuck with two MexiMelts. What do you do?

I know. Eat them.  And, I did.

One last thing.

I have been making some site changes. I now have a Favicon, or, one of those small pictures next to the title or address of the site. Yay! I also have a logo, if you haven't noticed. Thirdly, I have posted a search and follow by email add-ins. At the top, I have posted a poll.

May the odds be ever in your favor, and remember, tomorrow  is another big, big, day!

Libraries mean Hunger Games

Today I went to the library. I got some books and read. I later acted crazy.

But, I have something tugging at the wires of my brain. And, my brain is precariously perched on the brink of insanity. If tugged one way, it could be pushed or pulled away to or from the edge.

In this case, it was closer to the brink of destruction.

I love the Hunger Games trilogy.

Really bad.

And a movie is coming out in 2012. I'll keep you updated.

I digress. I have to go over to a friends house, while parents go to a party, for helping at Sunday School at church.

I'm not excited.

Orange Moon brings Realtors

If you hadn't heard, there was a lunar eclipse today, and I did see it, although it wasn't visible in North America (Nice. Wait, what?) I'm still in North America, where it is 106 degrees. I watched it on Slooh and, well, the moon was orange. It was possibly the weirdest thing I had ever seen.  The moon was glowing orange. Like radiating the color.

And my friend missed it. The next really good will be in another 11 years. Poor Joetom2000.

Today, a Realtor is coming over to have my parents sign some papers and put the house on the market. Fun, right? Not, whatsoever. He might put the inevitable in the yard. The sign.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Comets, Spies, Mimes Oh My!

It is called "Kamikaze" and is from the new Owl City album, All Things Bright and Beautiful. It sounds, well, awesome. And that was being frank. (That means that album came out today!!!!!) I rate this 4.5 out of 5!

I read this book called Scorpia in the Alex Rider series. One of the best series out there! In this  book, Alex Rider finds where his father had worked and decided to follow in his footsteps. And      he left these footsteps at a criminal organization called Scorpia. But he soon finds a project called "Invisible Sword". It leaves your heart pounding and your mind racing. Every image is painted perfectly with words. I strongly recommend this book and the rest of the series. Make sure to read Stormbreaker, the first in the series. I rate this book as a 5 out of 5!!!!!!

My sister and I just played mime. How fun? It isn't fun when your sister screams to a song...

A Magical Purple Putty Teaches Me About Life

My sister was playing with her purple putty she bought at her school while we were cleaning (i'm not a Cinderella!) and i noticed something about it. The putty melds to your hand when you squish it, with not much give. The putty resembles your personality, decisions, and goals. The putty melds to certain situations, or the hand, and resembles how you handle them. The putty has a lot of give, but has certain goals and doesn't meld completely  correctly. An example would be today's economy in the U.S. An entrepreneur would have to make the best of the economy and have it meld to his decisions. That is the story behind the Purple Putty.

Other than learning from the magical putty, I learned that cleaning ceiling fans with a rag and a cleaning chemical is much better than with a vacuum.  The vacuum doesn't suck up everything on the fan blades and you have to go back and do it again.

I probably don't sound very happy today, probably because I'm not. This entire business of cleaning isn't very fun. Why are we cleaning? We are moving.

I strongly, strongly, strongly dislike it.

Nothing sits with me worse.

I feel nothing towards the future, except for seventh grade and vacation.

Nothing else.

Italian Bathroom Cleaning From the South

So, tonight we (as in my family and I are going to Bucca Di Beppo tonight. If you are wondering what that is, it is an amazing little Italian chain that is SOOO awesome!  If you think about it, Italians have really, really clean bathrooms. I mean really clean. So much that I'd much rather go in one of theirs, than the French.

What's even weirder, is that we cleaned our bathrooms today, and nothing really funny happened today. (WHAT??? NOTHING WEIRD HAPPENED TO YOU TODAY??) So, other than that, I have nothing to post about.

However, I would like to say that my Mom isn't completely crazy, at least not all the time. This helps with all of our sanity (I just post all the really weird things that happen to me, much like the cherub incident from yesterday), and she makes really good sausage and cheese grits!

Did you know that grits are a breakfast food from the south? It also means Girls Raised In The South!

Crazy Cherub Lady

So, as you might know, I strongly dislike cleaning. Today was no different.

My story starts with procrastination.

All was fine, procrastination-wise, other than a few mishaps with a lamp filled with Lego's and an airplane. Until lunch that is. After lunch, my mother (the one with the hyper-microwave cleanliness? Yeah, her.), after she had mopped and it had dried, she yelled,

"Oh my sweet cherubs!! Time to clean!"

At that point, you break out into a crisp form of laughter. One that is created from sheer weirdness and joy, for you haven't heard something that weird in, well, forever. So, I said, "Why don't you say that in the airport?" So, she went right back at me. "Oh sweet cherubs! Come get in line!"

If you ever visit www.thejibbles.com you'll know that cherubs are horrible, evil creatures, that will do anything to get their hands on some headcheese. That's were we come in! New Cherub-B-Gone will solve your pesky cherub problems! Now available everywhere you shop!

I probably haven't told you, but I'm a HUGE Owl City fan... (What? A guy likes Owl City?!?)
This makes me of the utmost excited for his new album, All Things Bright and Beautiful. And in this album, a song called "Plant Life" An odd name for a song, isn't it?  Well it describes it perfectly.

Just Google it, and you'll find my favorite version, it's by Matt Thiessen (part of Relient K) performing "Plant Life"as an opening act in Owatonna, MN on Halloween...

Have a good day folks, and remember your Cherub-B-Gone!

I Guess I Can Hold My Own in Pre-Algebra.

Well, It's official. I got an absolutely, positively, awesome grade on math final exam. I can finally say, I am able to hold my own in an extremely advanced 6th grade Pre-Algebra class. This year was riddled with blood, sweat, and tears, for I have a bout of neglect for my multiplication terms.

I'm going to stop bragging now, so let me fill you in on the upcoming events in my life...

  1. Today, I'm going to see m dad's show.
  2. Owl City's new album is coming out June 14!
  3. I'm going to South Carolina on the 29! Yay!
All these things add up to an extremely hectic lifestyle for all of us. Don't give up on me. I'm going to post every single day. That's a requirement.

Have you ever been on the brink of a nervous breakdown? Well, today, I almost did. We (as in my mom and I) were cleaning up the kitchen, for we have that kind of thing going on around here. So I was scrubbing down the washing machine (What? hat's not a kitchen appliance!), when she said, "Eww! This microwave is disgusting!" Of course, I had just cleaned the microwave, and there was ONE thing I couldn't get off. That was it. And she was yelling at me for it. Then, I tried to explain myself. I started bawling. She was laughing. Then my dad barged in, and tried fixing the problem! Oh, the humanity!

Much to my dismay, my mother slid wet, cold ice cube down my back. That just made me cry harder.  What, class does this add up to? Light up socks? Insane asylums? Learning HTML coding? Yes.

Hello, My Name is Andrew..

Hello. My name is Andrew, and well, the word atypical musings defines my life.I go to a public school in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am a measly 6th (soon to be 7th) grader.  As a (smaller) child, weird things always have happened to me, and I thought they were normal and happened to everyone. Now that I go through middle school, I see otherwise. So I though, "Hmm... I should get a blog! Everyone would know about my absolute weirdness! Wouldn't that be great?" And so I asked my parents. They agreed.

Under certain circumstances, of course, and these are:
  1. Must be a journal with book reviews on books we select for you to read.
  2. Must be good enough to present to an English teacher at the end of the summer.
So I took this under my wing, but decided to enhance it. I will give reviews on books, movies, music, and other websites. Sounds fun, right? Well I need to know. So, if you'd like, please take a gander down at the comments area and tell me how I'm doing. I'd love to know.

Like I said, my life was pretty crazy. To demonstrate this, I will explain the happenings of the past week. First off, It was exams at school, and to be frank, it was quite hectic. From security to hard tests, everyone was in a scurry. This means only bringing a folder, and two hours of tests, and half days. (I guess the last two are good!) But as you could guess, everybody was in a lather because of the last day of school. So, as I was walking out today, I gave a hug to somebody, and the counselor came up and said, "Separation!" Of course I said "Bye" to the person. I left laughing, and reliving the moment. Jeez. The stuff I do.
